AGENT PROFILE

Yancy Moore comes to Gant Hill with real estate knowledge “from the ground up.”  He has a strong background in residential painting and construction with 9 years operating his own painting business and 7 years working for a residential remodeling company in the Louisville area.  He lives in the Historic District of LaGrange, KY and has lots of experience working with older homes.  More recently he has been involved in commercial real estate maintenance and management. 

In addition to his experience in the construction-related fields he has a diverse career background.  A 1993 graduate of Centre College, he has a B.S. in Biology and 5 years working as a lab research technician at the University of Louisville in the field of Molecular Biology.  Two years were spent as a Field Biologist and Wildland Firefighter for North Cascades National Park in Washington state.  To round out his abilities he has a year of graduate-level study at Western Kentucky University with an emphasis on Geographic Information Systems and Natural Resource Management.

His interests include competitive running, where he holds two individual SCAC Conference titles in Cross-Country and Track while at Centre College.  A 7^th-place finish in the 1998 Kentucky Derby Festival mini-Marathon and an 11^th-place finish in the 2003 KDF Marathon are highlights of his career.  Other interests include camping, backpacking, and travel.  He has visited 47 U.S. states and has traveled widely in Europe.  His favorite trips include a honeymoon in Iceland and a backpacking trip through Norway.
